About Us
Booroongen Djugun specialises in providing Community Care and Residential Care services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders in the Kempsey area, offering a space to access culturally-informed care. We’re also a Registered Training Organisation, offering vocational education and training to staff and community members looking to broaden their horizons and enter the workforce.
The space itself was designed with the totems of fire, water, earth, and sun in mind, in order to support the strong ties to traditional life that many clients of Booroongen Djugun hold.

About the Role
As part of the Human Resources team, you will support the Human Resources Officer for Recruitment and Experience with activities related to the recruitment and onboarding experience of new employees in to Booroongen Djugun Limited whilst undertaking a Certificate II in Workplace Skills or a Certificate III in Business.
Assisting the HR Officer for Recruitment and Experience, your day in the role would look like

Assist with the management of the Careers inbox and directing enquiries where appropriate
-
Assist with the posting of vacant positions on the BDL Facebook page and other social media platforms
-
Assist with the dissemination of onboarding packages and contracts
-
Support the HR Officer with the onboarding of new employees
-
Assist with the screening of resumes, scheduling of interviews, references checks, confirming the verification Working With Children, APHRA registration and NDIS Clearance Checks

Assist with enrolling employees into First Aid at Booroongen Djugun College
-
Setting up general registration and on-boarding candidates to our systems
-
Scanning, filing, printing, copying
-
Maintaining accurate and up to date employee information
-
Issuing mandatory online training and policies and communicating completion rates
-
Supporting the HR Officer with the onboarding with School Based Traineeship and Traineeship coordination

Answering the telephone and taking messages when required
-
Meet and greet candidates when arriving for an interview
-
Progress to higher duties as experience and skills progress
-
Adhoc duties as directed

Be willing to undertake a Cert II in Workplace Skills or Cert III Business

Core Competencies/Requirements/Experience

This is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identified position

Sound cultural knowledge and understanding of engaging and providing cultural safe services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

Skills using Microsoft Office applications including Excel,

Time management skills

Ability to interact positively with a wide variety of stakeholders with the confidentiality, professionalism and discretion required in a HR function

Effective interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills

Strong alignment with the values of BDL.

NDIS paid worker screening clearance.

WWCC paid worker clearance.

Current Influenza vaccination

Position Requirements
All applicants are required to undergo a NDIS Workers Screening Check. As a Residential Care Facility, Influenza vaccination is mandatory for all staff who work onsite.
