Primary Purpose
Partnering with our executive leadership team, the Management Accountant will provide specialist advice and facilitate the successful operation of accounting information systems, including the preparation of the annual budget in support our financial and business strategy.
The Management Accountant will prepare, review and lodge key reports in line with statutory requirements, including performing reconciliations so as to produce monthly / quarterly and year-end financial reports proactively contributing to the development of financial processes, policies and systems.
Key responsibilities and duties

General Ledger reconciliations and attend to daily, weekly and month end procedures.

Presentation of monthly management reports to the BDL Board and Executive Management Team.

To assist in the preparation of the annual budget.

To provide support to other members of the Finance team as required.

Review and submit the Quarterly Financial Report and annual Aged Care Financial Report.

Lead and manage the external audit processes.

Identify, research, develop, monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators for BDL in consultation with the Board, CEO and/or Executive Managers.

Research, analyse, and provide specialist advice in delivering specific projects, both financial and non-financial in nature, as requested by Board, CEO and/or Executive Manager.

Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely collections from debtors.

Develop and maintain the chart of accounts in Xero.

Work with external IT support to coordinate IT lifecycle updates, equipment setup, maintain network.
The expertise you bring
-
Tertiary degree qualifications or similar in a relevant discipline
-
Experience in the understanding and application of contemporary accounting/financial management principles and practices.

Preference is for a Qualified member of CPA or CAANZ, however candidates who have progressed significantly towards a professional accounting qualification will also be considered

An understanding of business drivers and critical management information

Extensive knowledge of and proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent research and organisational skills.

A high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail

Knowledge and Understanding in the application of and the understanding of Australian Accounting Standards

Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to ask the ‘right questions’ to provide the requisite advice.

Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role
